THE
HIGGINS COLLECTION OF METEORITES
Welcome visitors,

Hello my name is John Higgins. I live in Northern New Jersey where I was born in 1978. I have a bachelors degree in Anthropology from Montclair State University and have a great interest in learning about and studying other peoples and cultures-- Specifically those of Mexico/Central America and North West Africa. My true passion is for meteorites.

In 1999 I found my very own genesis stone, a first class meteor-wrong that started me out on this lifelong journey to learn more about meteorites. I then embarked on buying meteorites on e-bay to study and compare the textures and colors to my first find. Things quickly snowballed from there. Over the years I have learned that the real treasure is not in the meteorites, but the journey itself, the wonderful people you meet, and the lessons learned about life.

I have great respect for meteorites and collecting as a hobby. I have been told it emanates through my provenance and certificates. First and foremost my bond to meteorites is that of a scientist, and secondly that of a collector. I have a commitment to learn about and share the knowledge gained from the meteorites which I discover and bring to market. I also believe in donating samples and offering discounts to members of the meteoritical society or other institutions performing scientific analysis or performing research.

Meteorites are on the forefront of scientific study which allow us to see deep into the geology and ancient history of outer space. I believe it's important that scientific study, analysis and subjective thinking be applied to all facets of meteorite collecting.

I am a proud member of the International Meteorite Collectors Association #9822 and the Meteoritical Society.

As a Meteorite Hunter, I consider myself a citizen of the world. I have a inquisitive nature, always in search of new experiences. When traveling abroad I go above and beyond to learn and share with the natives that inhabit the land. My objective is to make friends, help in anyway I can, treat others and be treated with respect. Whenever I leave, I make sure that place is better off than when I arrived. When you go with that attitude, I have found that everything else including meteorites fall into place.

Happy Hunting and Collecting, Reach For The Stars! and Have a Great Day!

Sincerely,

        JOHN HIGGINS
